Holocaust Remembrance Day
Description
Join us for a profoundly moving and educational experience as Holocaust survivor Alexander “Lex” Silbiger shares his personal story of resilience, survival, and hope. Through firsthand testimony, Lex will reflect on his life under Nazi occupation, his journey seeking asylum, and the refugee experiences that ultimately led him to the United States and, eventually, North Carolina.
This event offers a rare opportunity to hear history directly from someone who lived it—encouraging reflection, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the lasting impact of the Holocaust and forced displacement.
Attendees are also invited to view a 42-panel Holocaust exhibit, which will be on display and available for self-guided exploration before and after the presentation.
This program is sponsored by the Peter Thull Fund for Holocaust and Social Justice Education and is open to all who wish to learn, remember, and bear witness.
