Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 14th, 2024! Forsyth Tech invites you to join us in celebrating National First-Generation College Celebration Day with three exciting events throughout the day. Register for one or all—whichever fits your schedule!

9-11:00 am: Mocha Moments: Mix and Mingle with Executive Leadership and Deans-Robert L. Strickland Lobby

Join us for coffee, treats, and conversation with Forsyth Tech leaders, who have navigated being first-generation college students. Come with questions and leave with advice on how to blaze your own first-gen trail at Forsyth Tech and beyond.

1-3:00 pm: From Dreams to Degrees: The First-Gen Experience-Robert L Strickland Auditorium

Come by to hear the stories of TRIO Student Support Services Scholars journeys at Forsyth Tech and how they have navigated their first-generation college student experience by joining student organizations, utilizing resources, and being successful in the classroom.

6-7:00 pm: Professional Trailblazers: Empowering First-Gen Students to Navigate Life After College-Robert L Strickland Auditorium

Once a first-generation college graduate, always a first-generation college graduate. Come hear a panel of distinguished staff from Forsyth Tech and professionals from our community, who were all first-generation college students, who are now navigating the professional world as a first-generation college graduate. Listen to their journeys and recieve advice on how being first-generation never truly ends, but only gets better!
